The fundamental purpose of any database is to manage information.
However, this is a much easier task for some database engines than others because some have more muscle. REDS Online
uses a powerful Microsoft product called SQL Server. Rather than pushing
processing tasks onto the user's computer (client), search requests are executed
in house (server side) and only the results are forwarded to be displayed by the
client's browser. The REDS Online database contains more than a quarter million sales records for properties in
eight southern central Pennsylvania counties. With this much information to
process, users will benefit immediately from server side processing with
incredibly fast searches.
As a real estate professional, you routinely search
property records from one source or another. Before you can
begin any search, you must decide what criteria to search for and where to
search for it. Real Estate Data Services Online is an excellent place to
begin. This tutorial will show you in detail how to use the REDS Online search tools to
thoroughly examine our database of property sales, view the results and print
those records that satisfy your search criteria.
This discussion has been broken down into a logical
progression of topics. The approximate number of minutes to review each
topic is indicated in the top right corner of the
page. We suggest looking at these tutorial pages in order because each lesson builds
on the previous lesson. Easily navigate forward or backward from one lesson to the next by using the
page links (arrows) near the bottom.
