"Comparisons" on the Search Filter allow the user and the computer to
communicate through a commonly understood set of instructions. These commands are
applied by the Search Filter to extract a matching set of records.
By applying several comparisons to different database fields, every user can
really narrow his/her search results. The REDS Online Database recognizes the following
standard comparisons:
begins with
Frequently
used Comparison for all fields. Works best with the Parcel# and Street_Name fields.
contains
Frequently
used Comparison best used with text fields such as Grantor, Grantee, Municipality and
Street_Name.
is equal to
Criteria must be typed exactly as it appears in the database. Best
used with Use or Deed_Reference fields.
is less than or equal
to
Best
used with number fields such as Price, Building_SF or Land_Acreage.
is greater than or
equal to
