CERTIFIED REAL ESTATE APPRAISER

The real estate appraisal industry is the only profession directly regulated by the federal government.  Attaining certification as a real estate appraiser is not an easy achievement.  In the state of Pennsylvania, a candidate must:

• complete a minimum of 120 hours of approved classroom instruction
• accumulate 2500 documented hours of real estate appraisal experience (after taking USPAP)
• serve a minimum apprenticeship period of  two years

To maintain certification, every Certified Real Estate Appraiser must successfully complete a minimum of 14 continuing education credits per year including review of the Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (USPAP).
